The shorter version

Dhiren Doshi‑Smith (he/they) is a queer, neurodivergent British‑Indian therapeutic counsellor, speaker and writer whose work centres on mental health, identity and lived experience. He is a BACP‑registered, person‑centred counsellor with training through CACPB, drawing on his own journey through anxiety, depression and late‑diagnosed neurodiversity to offer warm, grounded support.

Through Oak Path Therapy, Dhiren creates emotionally honest, anti‑oppressive spaces for clients—particularly those from queer, neurodivergent and POC communities—to explore identity, relationships and life transitions.

Alongside counselling, he is an ADHD UK Ambassador, advocating for visibility, representation and changing the narrative around neurodivergence.

He also speaks and trains with organisations such as We Create Space, championing inclusion, wellbeing and authentic living.

The longer version

Dhiren Doshi‑Smith (he/they) is a queer, neurodivergent British‑Indian therapeutic counsellor, writer, trainer and public speaker whose work sits at the intersection of mental health, identity and lived experience. A BACP‑registered, CACPB‑trained person‑centred counsellor, Dhiren’s practice is rooted in emotional honesty, intersectionality and the belief that people thrive when they no longer feel the need to shrink or mask who they are.

His therapeutic approach is shaped by his own lived experiences of navigating anxiety, depression and late‑diagnosed neurodiversity. Having transitioned careers later in life, he brings deep empathy to clients moving through major life changes, offering grounded support around identity, gender, relationships, shame, trauma and self‑acceptance. Through his private practice, Oak Path Therapy, he creates safe, reflective spaces where clients can connect more fully with their own voice and direction.

Beyond the therapy room, Dhiren is a dedicated advocate for inclusion and wellbeing. As an ADHD UK Ambassador, he champions visibility and diverse representation within neurodivergent communities, helping shift public understanding toward more compassionate, nuanced perspectives.

He also works as a speaker and trainer with organisations including We Create Space, contributing to DEI, leadership and mental‑health‑focused programmes. His work emphasises the importance of neuro-inclusion, psychological safety and cultures where people can show up authentically without fear of misunderstanding or dismissal.

Whether counselling, writing or presenting, Dhiren brings a steady, compassionate presence grounded in both professional insight and lived experience. He is committed to helping people feel seen, affirmed and empowered—especially those from queer, neurodivergent and POC communities—and to creating spaces where authenticity becomes a source of strength rather than something to hide.
